Practice Summary:
Doug completed his articles in Toronto and joined Tierney Stauffer LLP as an Associate upon his call to the Ontario bar in 1993. Doug has been a Partner of the firm since 2001.
He is primarily responsible for matters involving real estate, both commercial and residential, the purchase and sale of businesses, incorporations, mortgages, wills, estate administration including family trusts and henson trusts.
Doug oversees the Real Estate Practice Group and is proud of the efficiency of the Tierney Stauffer LLP real estate team which utilizes the latest technology and real estate techniques available, inlcuidng direct transfer of funds software, province wide land registry office access, title insurance and internet communication with lenders to provide leading edge service to our clients.
Doug has lectured on the topic of real estate and wills and estates to various community groups.
An avid traveller, Doug has participated in volunteer projects in Nicaragua, Peru and Panama. In his free time Doug participates in competitive basketball, long distance running (including his first marathon in 2005) and the annual Kingston triathlon.
Doug is a member of the organizing committee of the annual charity golf tournament sponsored and organized by our firm for the benefit of St. Patrick’s home of Ottawa. He has also been actively involved in the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life as both a member of the sponsorship committee (2004-2007) and participant since 2000.
