W. Ormond Murphy

Orm graduated from Queen's Law School in 1975 and was called to the Bar in 1977. He practices primarily in the field of Civil Litigation, with an emphasis on Family Law and Estate Litigation.

Orm was a Trustee of the County of Carleton Law Association from 1987 to 1997, sitting as President in 1995 - 96. He is the East Regional Director and Treasurer for the County and District Law Presidents' Association.

Orm has lectured and written extensively on Family Law and Estates for the University of Ottawa Law School, Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association's Solicitor and Litigation conferences.

Orm has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Thousand Island Association since 1993, serving as president from 1997 - 1999.

Orm also sits on the Advisory Board for the legal clerk program at Algonquin College.
